Get involved

Fund something specific. Get the report on exactly that.

Support at any level is applied directly to programme delivery, and every contribution is reported against a named school.

What you receive for a gift today

An acknowledgement, and a report — not a tax receipt. AVID's charitable registration with the Canada Revenue Agency is in progress. Until it is granted we cannot issue official donation receipts for income tax purposes, and we will not imply otherwise. What you do receive: written acknowledgement of your gift, and a report naming the school it funded and what it paid for.

If a tax receipt matters to you, we would rather you waited and gave later than gave now on a false expectation. Ask us to let you know when registration is granted — applications@theavidfoundation.org.

Ways to give

Specific beats general.

A shelf, a collection, the systems, or a whole library. Choose the thing you want to exist, and we will tell you where it went.

  • Most direct

    Sponsor a library

    By arrangement

A complete refurbishment of one school library, named in your honour, with a full report and photographic record.

  • Fund a collection

    By arrangement

The book stock for one school, selected with its teachers.

  • Adopt a shelf

    By arrangement

One named shelf, stocked and labelled, in a named school — with a photograph of it once it is full.

  • Fund the systems

    By arrangement

Cataloguing, shelving and staff training for one library.

  • Give monthly

    By arrangement

A standing amount that funds maintenance, follow-up visits and restocking — the part of the work that keeps a library open after the opening.

  • Institutional grants

    By agreement

Multi-school programmes with formal reporting, monitoring and evaluation.

  • In-kind and pro bono

Professional expertise in education, logistics, law, accounting or design.

Giving online, right now

We are finalising our donation platform so that card and bank giving works in Canadian, US, British and Nigerian currency. In the meantime, gifts are arranged directly — email applications@theavidfoundation.org and we will send transfer details and confirm exactly which school your gift is assigned to.

Partner with us

For organisations, foundations and companies.

Multi-school programmes with formal reporting, monitoring and evaluation. We are set up for the due diligence: staged disbursement against milestones, written partner agreements, retained documentation and board-level authority over every allocation.

Tell us roughly what you are considering and we will reply with a real answer about fit — including if the answer is no.
